Competition by the Technology Transfer Center of Georgia
The TTCG was founded to provide technical support and business assistance to Georgian micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with the aim to improve their access to technologies and thereby increase their efficiency. The main objective of the TTCG is to promote the innovation culture in Georgia and facilitate the technology transfer from research to industry. The multidisciplinary functions of the TTCG are rooted in the nature of its founding members among which there are representatives from academia, public and private sector.
The first project of the TTCG, the competition INNO|GEORGIA, is organized with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. INNO|GEORGIA aims at supporting companies who have innovative project ideas, but lack the know-how and financial means to implement it. Companies that are for example looking for new technological solutions to their existing problems, would like to implement joint research & development projects with local or international universities, or are planning to offer a new or improved product or service are encouraged to apply. Up to five companies will be selected by the high-level jury based on clearly defined criteria and will receive the TTCG’s technical assistance as well as co-funding for their projects (up to 20.000 GEL per company). The shortlisted companies will be invited to a presentation in front of the jury in the last week of November 2012. The winners of the competition will be announced around November 30, 2012.
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises registered in Georgia and operating in the following sectors are encouraged to apply: agriculture and food processing, manufacturing, packaging, logistics, construction, tourism. Interesting proposals from the MSMEs operating in other sectors may also be considered.
The application form can be downloaded at www.gttc.ge or requested at the GTTC’s premises at 31, Nino Ramishvili Str. 0179, Tbilisi, Georgia.
