On 8-9 May, delegation of Sakpatenti headed by Chairman Mr. Irakli Ghvaladze visited Patent Office of Latvia in Riga. Mr. Ghvaladze and Mr. Zviad Matiashvili - head of the Department of Inventions, Design and New Varieties and Breeds attended the conference on the occasion of 20th anniversary of the Patent Office of Latvia. The conference was held on the “intellectual property Rights Management”.

The conference was organized by the World intellectual property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia. The conference was attended by the heads of Patent Offices of various countries and examiners operating in the field on Intellectual Property.

The effective protection of Georgian brands in the Baltic countries was discussed in the framework of the meetings held between Georgian delegation and Latvian officials.
