Seminar on Technology Transfer and Innovation Issues
National intellectual property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti in cooperation with the United States Commercial law Development Program (CLDP) of the Department of Commerce of USA organized a seminar on the issues of innovation and Technology Transfer on May 3-4,2012 in Tbilisi.
The main topics discussed on the seminar were focused on:
- development, establishment and management of technology transfer offices and personnel;
- development of a legislative and regulatory framework conducive to technology transfer from academia to the business community, which will foster the commercialization of technologies in Georgia;
- development of a strategy for effective dialogue between academia and industry in the field.
Experts from the United States, Sakpatenti officials, lawyers in intellectual property, universities, private and business sector, international organizations (GIZ, USAID EPI, EC delegation to Georgia) and the Embassy of USA to Georgia participated in the seminar.
