On November 11, 2011 a memorandum of understanding was signed between Sakpatenti and Ilia State University.

Cooperation is directed towards the promotion and development of research and scientific activity at the University.

The memorandum covers a wide range of cooperation between the parties.

Considering common interests parties will implement joint target projects according to the document.

In case the University is interested, Sakpatenti will provide the access of the University staff members and students to the Patent information stored in the Sakpatenti databases, will determine the state of the art and novelty of inventions created on the basis of the University, etc.

If Sakpatenti gets interested, the University will provide the participation of the University staff members and students in conferences organized by Sakpatenti.

Along with this, the University students will also have an opportunity to pass internship at Sakpatenti.

The memorandum of understanding also envisages other joint events.

Mr. Gigi Tevzadze, Rector of Ilia State University, and Mr.Irakli Ghvaladze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, signed the document.
