On December 4-5, a sub-regional Seminar on the Protection of copyright, Related Rights and Collective Management took place at the Radisson Hotel, Tbilisi with the support of the World intellectual property Organization (WIPO). Co-organizers of the event were the National intellectual property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti, the Georgian copyright Association (GCA), the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) and the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organization (IFRRO).
The seminar was attended by representatives of copyright and related rights associations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Latvia, as well as representatives of various interested offices of Georgia.
During the event international experts familiarized the participants with the experience of the leading countries of the world in the field of copyright and related rights which in the future will facilitate the enhancement of the copyright and related rights protection as well as the collective management system in Georgia.
Welcome addresses were delivered by Mr. Irakli Ghvaladze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, and Mrs. Saule Tlevlessova, representative of the World intellectual property Organization.
