The Ministry of Economy will become one of the first government bodies in Armenia to start using solely licensed software packages after signing a corresponding agreement with Microsoft last month.
In 2007, the Government of Armenia assumed an obligation to use Microsoft’s licensed programs and ensure copyright protection in Armenia.
The agreement signed on September 30 between the Ministry of Economy and Microsoft was hailed as another successful step by Armenia to live up to its commitments.
Microsoft’s Armenia representation expressed a hope that the process will continue in Armenia’s other governmental departments as well.
