Belarus proceeds with encouraging effective use of IP and harmonization of its IP regulation with Russian law.
The Edict issued on May 26, 2011 provides, inter alia, for exemption of profit gained from sale of property rights to objects of industrial property (other than means of individualization) from taxation, as well as for authorization of sci- entific and educational establishments to incorporate legal entities without any limitations as to their corporate form for developing scientific inventions and commercialization of results of intellectual activity.
Earlier, on February 3, 2011 amendments into regulation of patents, mainly aimed at facilitation of the application pro- cess, entered into force.
