The WIPO Secretariat is organizing, on June 14, 2011, the third in a series of symposia scrutinizing current developments in the interface between intellectual property (IP) and competition policy. The Symposium will start at 14:00 at WIPO headquarters (Bilger Room).
Discussion will center round the study “IP as a Barrier to Entry: A Survey of Economic and Legal Literature”. The study was prepared by a team of academics and researchers from the Center on Law and Information Policy (CLIP), of the Fordham University, New York.
The fourth IP Business Congress (IPBC) is taking place at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, USA, between 19th and 21st June 2011. It brings together representatives of Member States’ administrations, producers of GI products and specialists in the field of geographical indications. The Symposium is a forum for an exchange of ideas and views on various issues relating to the use and protection of geographical indications.

The World intellectual property Organization (WIPO) will hold a Conference on innovation and Climate Change at the International Conference Center Geneva (CICG) on July 11 and 12, 2011.
The Conference will open on Monday, July 11, 2011, at 9.30 a.m. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish. This event is open to the general public.

The WIPO Digital Access Service for Priority Documents (“DAS”) was designed with a view to ensuring that a suitable, scalable and secure service could be delivered for applicants and Offices to facilitate transfer of priority documents electronically. It was agreed in the two previous sessions of the Working Group on the Digital Access Service for Priority Documents (“the Working Group”) that the initial launch of DAS would be limited to Patent priority documents.
